Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments involving the application of chemical solutions to the skin's surface to address various skin concerns and signs of aging. While commonly used on the face, chemical peels can also be applied to the body, neck, and hands.

Chemical peels can effectively treat conditions such as damaged skin texture, pigmentation issues, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and overall skin health.

There are three levels of intensity when it comes to chemical peels:

Superficial Peels: These peels gently exfoliate the outermost layer of skin (epidermis) and are suitable for mild skin concerns, including rough texture and general rejuvenation. There is minimal downtime, and regular treatments may be required to maintain results.

Medium Peels: Medium-intensity peels penetrate deeper into the skin, addressing issues like skin pigmentation (e.g., freckles, age spots), moderate discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles. Some discomfort and skin changes may occur post-treatment, but maintenance treatments are needed less frequently.

Deep Peels: This is the most intensive option, targeting deeper skin layers. Deep peels can significantly improve skin problems such as melasma, deep wrinkles, and scars. Discomfort, swelling, and skin redness are expected, with a longer recovery period. These peels are typically performed only once.

The choice of peel intensity depends on individual preferences, tolerance for downtime, and desired outcomes.

At Age Refined, our highly skilled aestheticians perform some peels, while deeper peels are administered by the nurse practitioner to ensure safety and optimal results. Which are targeted to your skin needs.
